Bowstone Studios is a mixing, editing, songwriting, and recording studio located in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania’s suburb of Churchill, positioned inside of a Westinghouse built colonial house situated on a private secluded road. Mixing and editing is our bread and butter though we have the capabilities to work in any stage of a recording project.
We offer a hybrid recording and mixing environment that includes vintage and modern analog equipment from Universal Audio, Neve, API, Empirical Labs, Warm Audio, Ashly, Alesis, Beyer Dynamics, AKG, and Yamaha, with a digital recording environment based around Avid Pro tools. Bowstone Studio’s microphone collection comes from countries throughout the world including Germany, Austria, Sweden, Australia, and the U.S.A. featuring brands such as Neumann, AEA Microphones, Royer Labs, Sennheiser, Shure, and ElectroVoice,
While still under construction, the studio features a dedicated control room with floating floor and floating walls as well as a large isolation booth. Acoustic treatment and tuning provided by GIK Acoustics and ATS Acoustics.

Jon is a proficient musician, producer, songwriter, and engineer. His recording and mixing techniques are centered around a hybrid approaching mixing the best of analog and digital recording He prides himself on his use of properly tuned instruments, appropriately positioned high quality microphones captured through vintage analog equipment recorded to a accurate digital platform. Jon favors the workflow of Avid Pro Tools, Propellerhead Reason, and HOFA. Jon is also an active touring musician and performer with experience in music publishing and licensing for television and film.
